There are a few different ways in which you can configure pairing in Dewdropz. Below are the available options:

Random pairing:

This is our base offering, the vanilla of pairing, where users get randomly matched. Everyone in the team is eligible to be matched with someone else in the team. There are a few other factors taken into account so it's not completely random, these factors include who the previous match was, how the match in the last pairing worked out, etc. So its a combination of random and the bot trying to find a good match for you. Though we call it our vanilla offering, we need to remember there is a reason why vanilla is one of the most popular flavours, it goes well with a lot and as such so does our random matching. It will work really well with most organisations. To really allow spontaneous and serendipitous moments to occur, it means less control and letting the magic happen in the background. This is great for small teams and larger organisations that want to encourage as many connections across the organisation as possible.

Groups

Groups are a way of defining how you classify different sets of employees. You can create up to six groups and use whatever paradigm you want: eg. grouping by location, time zone, organisational roles, seniority, or even favourite ice cream flavour. It's up to you.

You can choose to let the employees decide which group they belong to or allocate these groups yourself in the console.

Cross group matching

This will only match people from one group to another, so in a pairing you would have someone from group A and someone from group B. It will avoid any pairings of Group A with Group A.

This is only available on paid plans.

Within group

This setting will match people within the same group. So group A will only get matched with Group B. A great use case for this is when there are different time zones that would make meeting difficult between people.

This is only available on paid plans.
